When you use transfer learning you can take advantage of all the prelearned features. Researchers, organizations, invest a lot of time and resources to train large models on large amounts of data. Transfer learning allows us to take advantage of the work that has already been done, modify the architecture slightly, and fine tune the model on our problem.
